BONGOLAND II SHOOT - DONE DEAL - FINITO!

This is to inform you that it is will great pride and pleasure to announce that we completed the shooting of the movie Bongoland II. "SPREAD THE WORD, TELL THE WORLD".

I am now in Maputo, taking much needed few days off as I attend a family function - my sister’s kid is getting married. Be back in Day – July 31st.

As I said before, if you can make a movie in Dar, you can make a movie anywhere! Africa is not for sissies and it is very easy to get destructed by many things. First there are production and logistical issues. The production issues were easily resolved because we had anticipated those and planned for them.

What we did not anticipate are the issues beyond our control...traffic jam in dar, cons whose main intentions were to make sure we spend all our money to the ground so that they can blog that the production "run out money". We were overcharged most of the times whether we were renting a place to shoot or buying water for the day...

But what some of these waswahili did not know was the fact that we came to Dar on a serious mission...a mission five years in the making and no amount of an overcharge could have stopped this tide. Our zeal and tenacity endured all the obstacles these people threw our way!

Having said that, I should also mention that we met a lot of good people. The people of Sofia Production who took us in and made us part of their family. The drivers (Patrick and Rajabu) spend days and night worrying about our schedule most of which they were informed by hour. My sisters (Mary Kahwa and Martha Dennis) provided our lunches for out first crucial two production weeks. AFSAT Company in Dar provided us more than one office location...on the last minute. The list goes on and on....

I was proud to see that most people were with were willing to do anything to make sure that we succeed. It was like they did not want their home, their house, their city and their country to on record as being the obstacle for the production of Bongoland II.

And for all that, for all of you we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Please sit back and visit the blog in the upcoming days as will start bringing updates to you about the production from Day one. We hope to release the movie in High Definition - This November Inshallah!

Thanks - Merci - Mukozile - Ahsanteni - obrigado!!!
